Innovative token system for transparent, fee-free micro-donations
The Micro-Cent Token
Micro-Cent has developed an innovative token system to donate, process, and transfer small amounts free of charge. As managing money through accounts is exclusively reserved for banks under the supervision of the Swiss Central Bank, Micro-Cent is authorized to manage a token system.
Simple Conversion
One Micro-Cent token equals one dollar cent. Instead of USD 2.50, 250 microcents are transferred free of charge without conversion risk.
Non-Profit Directory
Nonprofits and charities are automatically listed in the public Non-Profit Directory after registration, making them discoverable and allowing them to accept micro-donations free of charge.
Full Control
Users receive and retain full control over their account. Donors can transfer donations or withdraw funds without Micro-Cent's intervention, just as nonprofits can withdraw their funds at any time.
Flexible Donations
After opening their account, donors can deposit microcents and make donations starting from USD 0.05 to each nonprofit or charity account holder. Account termination and withdrawals can be arranged directly to any bank account.
Annual Statements
Micro-Cent provides users with an annual statement of their account on December 31st, ensuring complete transparency.
Patron Status
When you register, your registration number becomes your account number. You automatically gain patron status with one vote in Micro-Cent meetings and referendums.
Fair Trade Endorsed
Micro-Cent endorses the 10 U.N. amendments for Fair Trade. Every year, members and patrons vote to determine which aid projects Micro-Cent will support.
